Calm, thoughtful pet care built on trust, routine, and understanding every animal as an individual.
The Heart Behind the Business
I've been around dogs for as long as I can remember, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of who I am. Tay's Tails & Trails grew from a real desire to offer the kind of care I would want for my own pets, calm, dependable, thoughtful, and built around their comfort.
I know how personal it is to trust someone with your pets and your home. That's why I take my work seriously and focus on making care feel safe, consistent, and as stress-free as possible for both pets and their people.
Today, I care for dogs, cats, and some small animals through dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, and adventure outings, always with a gentle, observant approach.
My Care Style
Every pet is different, and I believe their care should reflect that. My approach is gentle, observant, and rooted in body language, routine, trust, and clear communication.
Gentle handling
I pay attention to how each pet communicates and work with their comfort level instead of forcing interaction.
Routine-focused care
I do my best to keep pets on the routines they know, because consistency helps them feel safe and secure.
One-on-one attention
Care is tailored to your pet's energy, personality, and individual needs rather than treated like a one-size-fits-all service.
Clear updates
I keep pet parents informed with thoughtful updates so they feel connected and confident while they're away.
Who I Care For
I primarily care for dogs and cats, and I may also accept some small animals such as bunnies, turtles, and certain reptiles depending on their routine and needs.
My main services include dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, and adventure outings. All care is provided in the client's home.
My Crew
Behind Tay's Tails & Trails is a very opinionated little household. My four cats are a huge part of why I care so deeply about animals, routines, and learning how different personalities need different kinds of support.
Thor
Clumsy, hyper, loud, adventurous, and trusting
Thor is my wild card. He is fearless, always on the move, and somehow manages to be both adventurous and incredibly clumsy at the same time. He reminds me that some animals thrive when they can explore, play hard, and just be themselves.
Rocket
Clingy, babyish, smart, logical, and playful
Rocket is my little shadow. He is clingy in the sweetest way, super playful, and honestly one of the smartest pets I have ever had. He has taught me how much some animals need both comfort and consistency to feel secure.
Nebula
Independent, playful, crazy, gluttonous, and loving
Nebula does everything on Nebula time. She is independent, chaotic, food motivated, and still one of the most loving cats in the house. She reminds me that even pets who like their space still need care that respects their personality and trust.
Robin
Crazy, loud, bossy, clingy, and cuddly
Robin is tiny, dramatic, and fully convinced she runs the house. She is loud, bossy, clingy, and one of the cuddliest little personalities you could meet. She keeps me on my toes and reminds me that some pets need a caregiver who can handle big feelings with patience.
Occasional Support
Tay's Tails & Trails is primarily run by me, but from time to time my boyfriend Nicholas helps with dog walks and adventure outings. Some regular dogs already know him and absolutely love when he comes along.
If he will be involved in a walk or outing, I make sure clients know ahead of time. I believe in being transparent, and for the dogs who know him, he is often a pretty exciting part of the day.
